I am very proud to say that my photos turned out better that expected, which resulted to feedback ‘mind blowing’. At first when it came to deciding what theme I was going to do it, was very difficult for me to come to a conclusion of what I wanted to do. So I decided to brainstorm and write down things I was interested in. My first idea was to create this vintage American dinner look with my model, wearing a bandanna on her head and a white shirt and a sweater. I found an American dinner 10 minutes away from West India Station due to location costing £50 an hour. Due no funding I had to change my idea.

My peers gave me back some very good feedback their love all the photos especially the ‘Chilled’ one. Their loved the simplicity of the photographs being in one location, one light and one model with a plain background. One of my peers suggested that next time  I should have 3 sets of clothing for the model.

What went very good was the shooting on the actual day when I was shooting in the Photography studio. I had a kind of small idea of how I wanted my photos to turn out. Also what well for me was I used a Nikon camera which was really cool because it was my first time using that camera  which gave me a challenge. The framing of my photographs turned out really I have a improvement in my framing skills.

Things you could improve on? The way I can improve for next time is to plan more and to try something different with the lighting so maybe a silhouette light set up to add more dark mood to the photo. One of many obstacles I had to over come was to chose my best five photos and make all the photos correspond with each other.

My photos are very appropriate for the magazine I think my photos are very iconic and gives the viewer a story behind each photo. Also it has a simple but very Artistic feel to it.

I strongly think that the picture editor for Rolling Stones would definitely feel very happy to put my photos in the magazine with a few tweaks.

What I will do next time if I had the opportunity to do this task again is to shoot more photos and kind of experiment more with the poses and the set design.

What is a DVD?

DVD is an optical disc storage format invented and developed by electronic company such as Philips, Sony, Toshiba and Panasonic in 1955. DVD stands for Dissociated vertical deviation. DVD has been around for almost 18 years and has made a huge impact on this planet.

What is DVD’s used for?

DVD’s are used for many purpose one of the main purposes is to stall movies, music, softwares and games. DVD’s are sold in entertainment retailing companies such as HMV, Blockbuster and Virgin mega-stores. DVD’s offer large amount of storage capacity. The general public and the entertainment companies love it the as it’s small light (16g) and carries lots memory.

Before the DVD’s their was VHS tapes which looked like bricks. VHS went out of fashion due to the DVD’s came through looking hi tech and easy to use and required less storage space.

On the average movie DVD it contains menu, director’s Cut, Skip button and Next.

As you can see in this image the DVD photo has much more life to it which is more appealing to the viewer.

                                          The difference between DVD’s and Blue-Ray ?

As you can see the image is much more brighter, shaper and more detailed than a DVD movie.

Blu-Ray uses a blue-violet laser as opposed to the red laser used on DVDs. This allows Blu-Ray discs to hold a lot more information on them than DVDs. This allows HD (High-Definition on a disc. What entertainment companies and a filmmaker dream is to make the movies on DVD’S look as close to what you would see in a cinema. Blue Ray will replace DVD's as DVD’s replaced VHS tapes.

I conclusion I strongly think that DVD will eventually die out soon because in a couple years their won’t be any DVD sold in the shops maybe in the third countries will still be alive but not in the western world. In due course DVD’s are still relevant.

Evaluation

The video installation was a very exciting project for me. As there is no rules or structure to how one should make a installation which allows the artist to be free and be more creative with their piece. I presented my work in a mp4 format. My video installation was water your probably thinking that sounds boring ‘but it is not just not any water video installation its far from normal. It’s a perspective that public doesn’t look into’. The name of my installation is called ‘Blue Gold’ blue meaning water and gold a metaphor for the worth of water. It took me a couple hours to get all my information and resources. It took me 6 hours to edit the whole video. I wanted my installation to struck people as their where walking around college, to stop and look at my installation and take something away from it. The reason why I chose to use water as my topic was because water is an amazing liquid which will we take for granted in this world. So I wanted to shed a light on Blue Gold and some evil behind water companies like Nestle.

Location

I chose to use the first locations as the lift with screens above is viewed probably by 200 people and is the best place to get peoples attention.

Obstacles

Some of the obstacles that occurred to me beforehand, was if the context of the video was too much for the viewer. It didn’t contain any sexual acts, so it passed as safe.

Strengths

One of the strengths of my video installation was the research side was very detailed. Also the video installation got some good feedback from my peers

.

Weakness

My weakness was my timing to get the video installation done I kept changing my ideas time after time.

Next time

Next time I will improve on my timing and try something unusual and abstract.

Staff Awards Evaluation

Staff Awards

The staff awards was a multi cam project which was assigned to me by my teacher. Their was a long lead up to the actually show, me and my peers had to go through a lot of planning and only had one day to rehearsal on the actual day of the show. With all the planning of me and my class mates it resulted to it being a superb muliti - cam show. The feedback we got from the college staff was really great, positive de back their loved their way it was shot.

Also their loved their way we included every stuff member teachers, security, admission office, first aid etc all together in one video. This has been so far the highlight of all my assignments because we actual got to challenge ourselves and show the college that their can trust students, to document the staff awards.

The staff awards taught me how to be part of film crew and be really professional when on set. It gave me a little tastier of how live shows like Bafta Awards are filmed. Being the crane operator helped me up my filming skills it taught me how to be precise and be independent with the shots. Due to the walkie-talkie going offline it caused lots commission on set. I have learnt that communication on a live show is very crucial thing, without the whole show it can fall apart. We was very lucky due to the rehearsal and training from previous projects we decided when we was doing the actual, with the warlike - talkie offline to just improvise.

Client Feedback

What made people confident in my class was the way we conducted ourselves and the extra hours we put in when it came closer to the deadline. Also their where we filmed every interview had a professionalism to get we had a militia-cam set up and we used rule I thirds. The whole assignment was approached like a real life Awards show from siting arrangements, to the actual glass award. some of our videos we have produced on the course also lead the staff awards to have confidence in me and my peers.

Also the thumbs up from are teachers saying how creative and hard working we are.

What made the audience confident was the first 30sec opening title which blow them away, It allowed the viewer to have a personal relationship with the people in the intro because it was their work colleagues who their every day. The staff awards showed all staff even security.

What made the viewer feel good is that no facility was left out in the whole staff awards. The music played from Coldplay play its part because it set a joyful, excited and nerve racking Mood.

The lighting for the Staff awards could of been a bit better to allow the camera to be able to capture the audience and the show without no noise. We could of had more camera operators to get angles from the right hand side. The other Apart from that every went so well that day.

Overall Staff and teachers loved the way the staff awards was presented, this will allow teachers to give their students more faith for big projects in the future.
