My Advert Evaluation

My advert was the Specsavers advert which was about a boy who wanted to go to college one day without glasses. The concept for the advert was to combined a Specsavers and the phones 4 u Horror themed advert. The combination was successful and when we showed the advert to are peers their loved it.The storyboard were really useful because it kept us on track. The advert was successful because we planned it out probably from the start .we came up with the idea due to browsing on YouTube and we looked at Specsavers adverts and then the Phones 4 It took us 1hour to record the whole advert but it took us 6 hours to edit the video.add sound effect etc, but I found the editing process fun when you have the final product.

The unique selling point was to scare people into buying glasses to prevent them from seeing things. The Target
is from 5 years of age (scare young kids to wear their glasses) to 80 years old that wear glasses. We choose this target audience because their is a wide range and different variety of crowds that we believe our adverts will entertain and educate  them on how important it is to wear glasses if they are prescribed to you.

The main thing my peers liked was the rewind effect that I done towards the end which i came up with during the editing process. The main things I was pleased about in this project was the good team work i had with my team .i had a argument with one of my team members but we came to are senses and resolved are problem came out with a good product in the end.I used my own equipment shoot which was good because i was used to controls and ii had lots of space on my own memory card.

My target was mainly teenagers and young adults how go to college or university or secondary school who like seeing simple and funny videos to also sell a product as well.I don't think my advert would be useful in selling the product because it talks awhile to get straight to the point and i see it now more as a spoof of a actually Specsavers advert.I would say this advert is mainly for the middle and lower class people who like to watch a spoof now and then. The one aspect of the video i hate which is the last 7 seconds of the advert with my friend Eyyaz head was cut out of the shot. What i would do next time to avoid this mistake  is to re-shoot when something does not look right.

Three Point Lighting

Key Light

The key light is the main light source it shines directly on the subject usually from the front right or front left.It provides the overall look and feel of the shot.

Fill Light

Fill Light provides balance to the key by filling in the rest of the subjects face with a softer light. It comes form the front side opposite the key light.

Back Light
The back light creates a nice rim light around the back subject, separating them from the background .It can also be called a"hairlight" or " Rim light"

Defintion of Video genrated

Video generated videos are amateur videos made by people who are not paid to make the video.  Pretty much all user generated videos get posted on the YouTube. Some user generated videos go viral and sometimes the creator of the video may benefit a lot from their efforts by getting paid my Youtube.

My Video Evaluation

Throughout the past five weeks I put together a video profile of myself by using Finalcut pro to construct my footage into a media product. I mastered the basics on Finalcut pro by watching videos on YouTube. Also I learnt how to use Finalcut pro from watching some of my peers edit. The equipment I used to make my video was shot on a Canon 1100D (DSLR). I also used a professionally video tripod so that all of my shots were steady. I first recorded my video on a Canon camcorder which did not look professionally because there was lots of noise in the footage, so I recorded it again with a DSLR which brought my video to life. It was good because in my first video I was a bit shy and my video looks like it was directed by an amateur, you can tell the huge difference between my first video and then my final video. At first I had my video length at 10 minutes which in the end I cut it down to 6 mins, which was a hard decision to make. When I was editing I had problems with the sound levels so it took most of my time fixing. The best part of my video is the entrance because it builds up to my interview. What I would do differently next time is I would cut down on the production of video because it didn’t allow me to get full feedback from my peers. Also next time I would cut my video down to about 4 mins to keep the viewer wanting more and update my logbook in time before the lesson ends. The feedback I got from peers was really useful because it allowed me to see things that I could not see but because I got my feedback late I wasn’t able to improve my video. In generally the feedback I got was positive .So I was really pleased of my work. One of the main comments that stood out was “when your being interviewed, you need to lower the sound, and at the start with the tripod, you need to be more smoother, otherwise it looks as if the shutter speed is wrong and blurry, so get smoother turning, and panning, other than that, it was good bro, I like the video ident at the start with the sound effects, but to be honest , it was a little long, and try to be speak a bit clearer when you are being interviewed, I couldn’t understand some parts, but other than that, it was really well made and good, the music choice wasn’t bad either!.What i could do to make my video sound professional is use a external mic (Zoom H1)
